As the year draws to a close and the festive season begins, we’re reflecting on a year of dedication, progress, and making a positive difference at the Jackson Lees Group.

Our 2025 has been filled with moments that matter for our clients, our colleagues, and our communities. We’re proud to share twelve moments that defined our commitment to clients and the wider Merseyside and North-West community.

On the first day of Christmas, we celebrated our client service

We began the year on a high note by earning the Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Award, recognising our team's exceptional client service throughout 2024.

Awards are meaningful, but what matters most is what they stand for: trust earned through consistent listening, clear communication, and results that give clients peace of mind.

Receiving the Platinum Trusted Service Award acknowledges the thousands of everyday interactions, returning a call, explaining a next step, taking time to understand a family’s concerns, that build true confidence.

On the second day of Christmas, we helped create…

Community is at the heart of everything we do. Partnering with Tony Grant and Farrington Law to renovate Our Lady’s Parish Centre in Birkenhead to become the A&K community centre was more than a building project, it was a promise to give back to the Merseyside community.

Helping restore a space like this is one way we invest in the wellbeing of our peers and neighbours. It’s a reminder that the law serves people first, and that strong communities shape better futures.

On the third day of Christmas, we were recognised for giving back…

Access to justice is a cornerstone of our values. This year, colleagues from across the Group featured on the 2025 Pro Bono Recognition List, endorsed by the Lady Chief Justice.

Our team’s dedication, advising those who might otherwise be unable to afford legal support, volunteering time at clinics, and contributing expertise to community organisations, embodies our belief that justice should be accessible to all, not just the few.

On the fourth day of Christmas, we inspired future advocates…

At Jackson Lees Group, we’re proud to be part of a community that champions opportunity, education, and growth. That’s why we were delighted to support the St Vincent’s School Debate Competition, which took place yesterday afternoon and brought together some of the brightest young minds from Merseyside.

This inspiring event, hosted at St Vincent’s School, was a celebration of critical thinking, confidence, and communication. Organised in collaboration with Bermans and MAPD, the competition gave students a platform to explore complex ideas and express their views in a structured, supportive environment.

On the fifth day of Christmas, we welcomed new expertise…

We were delighted to welcome Jeanette Aspinall to lead our Medical Negligence team, strengthening a vital area of client care.

Medical negligence matters are often deeply personal and emotionally challenging. Jeanette’s leadership brings compassion, clarity, and significant experience to support individuals and families at difficult moments.

On the sixth day of Christmas, we celebrated 50 years of Making a Positive Difference…

Few milestones shine brighter than this as we wrap up the year: Andrew Holroyd’s five decades of service not just to the Merseyside community but to the legal profession as a whole.

Mentor, advocate, innovator, and steadfast champion for clients and colleagues alike. Marking Andrew’s 50-year career isn’t just looking back; it’s a reminder that integrity and care are timeless. His story continues to inspire our teams to uphold high standards and keep people at the centre of our work every single day.

On the seventh day of Christmas, we celebrated career progression…

This year, Jackson Lees Group announced a raft of senior promotions in its Private Client division, marking a significant moment for our teams and the clients we serve.

John-Paul Dennis, who joined earlier this year as a Partner and Head of the Wills, Trusts and Probate team, has been appointed to the new role of Divisional Director.

His leadership and expertise will help shape the future of our private client services, ensuring continued excellence and innovation.

We’re also proud to celebrate the promotion of Sarah McCarthy and Janet Jones to Partner level, recognising their outstanding contributions as heads of the Family and Residential Property teams respectively. Their dedication to client care and team development has been instrumental in driving success across these key areas.

In addition, Chris Stone and Claire Martini have also become Partners, further strengthening our leadership and reinforcing our commitment to nurturing talent within the Group.

These promotions reflect more than career milestones; they represent our culture of growth, recognition, and opportunity. When our people thrive, our client's benefit, and that’s what Making a Positive Difference is all about.

On the eighth day of Christmas, we were proud to be shortlisted…

This year brought not one, but two incredible honours for our teams each a reflection of the dedication, expertise, and client-first approach that define Jackson Lees Group.

We’re proud to have been shortlisted for Residential Property Law Team of the Year at the YM Liverpool Property & Business Awards 2025, a celebration of excellence across the region’s property and business sectors. This recognition highlights the outstanding work of our Residential Property team in guiding clients through one of life’s biggest milestones with clarity and care.

These short listings are more than accolades; they affirm our promise to deliver exceptional service and make a positive difference in the communities we serve.

On the ninth day of Christmas, we championed accessibility…

Inclusivity is non‑negotiable.

This year we were proud to highlight Rosie Bryan’s work supporting Deaf clients, ensuring accessible and inclusive legal services across the Group.

From BSL interpretation and visual aids to careful adjustments in how we communicate, accessibility is part of delivering high‑quality client care. Everyone should be able to understand their options, make informed decisions, and feel that their needs are being met by our team.

On the tenth day of Christmas, we celebrated legal excellence at the MJLD awards 2025

Earlier this year we were thrilled to share that Emily Hutton, Solicitor in the Public Family Law team at Broudie Jackson Canter, has won the Legal Excellence Award at the Merseyside Junior Lawyers Division Awards 2025!

Emily qualified via the SQE route in March and has already made a significant impact in children law, handling some of the most complex and emotionally demanding cases with exceptional skill, empathy, and care. Her work has earned high praise from clients, Counsel, and colleagues alike, and this award is a well-deserved recognition of her dedication and outstanding contribution to the legal profession.

Winning this award is not just a personal achievement, it reflects the values we hold dear at Jackson Lees Group: commitment to excellence, compassion in practice, and the courage to take on challenging cases that truly make a difference. Emily’s success is an inspiration to aspiring lawyers and a reminder that talent, hard work, and empathy can transform lives within our Merseyside community.

On the eleventh day of Christmas, we celebrated excellence…

The Jackson Lees Group was ranked among the best in Chambers and Partners, with standout recognition for Family Law and Public Inquiries.

This recognition spans across key practice areas, with Sarah McCarthy earning a Band 2 ranking for Family & Matrimonial Law, and Christopher Topping recognised for his expertise in Actions Against the Police.

In Public Inquiries, Elkan Abrahamson achieved a prestigious Band 1 ranking, while Nicola Brook secured Band 2 for her advocacy on human rights.

Independent rankings matter because they reflect consistent performance and peer respect. For clients, they provide reassurance that the team they choose has proven expertise, whether in sensitive family matters or complex public law work that can shape policy and practice.

On the twelfth day of Christmas, we invested in future talent...

We reinforced our commitment to nurturing talent by awarding four training contracts to aspiring solicitors Rosie Bryan, Jaimy Fearn, Arbaaz Mehmood, and Jennifer Reid.

Investing in trainees is investing in the future of our client service, bringing fresh perspectives and energy into our teams across the Jackson Lees Group.
