Dismissal

If you feel that you have lost your job unfairly, it’s always an option to attempt to resolve the situation directly with your employer. This can often be successful but should you not get the outcome you need, we can support you in bringing an Employment Tribunal claim. If you’re being dismissed and you’re not sure if you are being treated fairly, we’re here to help.

It’s vital to seek legal advice as soon as possible after your dismissal if you feel you have been a victim of an unfair or wrongful dismissal at your place of employment. The time limit for lodging an Employment Tribunal claim is within three months less one day of the date of your contract termination. In cases of wrongful dismissal, it is possible to bring your claim in the Civil Courts where the time limit is a much more lenient 6 years. Whatever your situation, our employment law specialists can help you.

Do you feel that you’ve been treated unfairly on the grounds of your:

  • Age
  • Disability
  • Gender reassignment
  • Maternity & pregnancy
  • Marriage or civil partnership
  • Race
  • Religion or belief
  • Sex
  • Sexual orientation?

If yes, our specialist discrimination lawyer will be able to support you in this, as well as with any of your concerns around being dismissed.

At Jackson Lees, our specialist employment law solicitors and discrimination lawyers are experts in unfair and wrongful dismissal claims (sometimes also known as ‘wrongful termination’), meaning that you are in safe hands throughout.
