Elkan Abrahamson submits Listening Project proposal

We have now submitted the final draft of the Listening Project proposal to the Inquiry team for their consideration.

We are glad that we have been able to submit the proposal at this early stage, as this gives us a better chance of the Inquiry team taking our recommendations on board.

Thank you for your feedback

We are grateful to all of you who shared your feedback with us. Your responses made it clear that you largely agreed with our suggestions and there were no substantial amendments needed. We now wait for the Inquiry Team to announce the start of the Listening Project.

Pete Weatherby QC updates 'Listening Project' proposal

A couple of weeks ago, we circulated Pete Weatherby QC’s advice on the Chair’s upcoming Listening Project. We then hosted a webinar, where we encouraged your feedback, questions, and comments about how you would like the evidence of who your loved one was in life and the circumstances of their death to be gathered and presented to the Inquiry. Following that feedback, Pete Weatherby has now updated the proposal for the Inquiry team, and we need you to share your feedback with us by end of day Wednesday 29th June.

Please reply directly to the email that brought you to this page to share your feedback.

Pete Weatherby QC provides advice to clients on 'Listening Project'

You may have heard the Chair, Baroness Hallett, speak of a ‘Listening Project’, anticipated to take place over the coming months. The Chair and her team have already made reference to a listening project, though have not outlined the specifics of what it will involve. It is our goal to ensure that you, the bereaved, are prepared to take part in the Listening Project when invited, if you wish to.

Pete Weatherby QC’s advice

Pete Weatherby QC, our lead Counsel for the Covid Inquiry, has drafted advice for our clients on this issue. The advice offers guidance to clients on gathering evidence for two main areas:

  • Evidence of who they were in life
  • Evidence relating to the circumstances of death

We will then put forward a proposal to the Chair and her team on behalf of the bereaved families.
