On the 36th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, Jackson Lees and Broudie Jackson Canter remember the 97 who were tragically lost that day in April 1989.

Broudie Jackson Canter proudly represented 21 families during the Hillsborough Inquest and has seen first-hand the unwavering determination and resilience from the families and supporters who have tirelessly campaigned for truth, justice and accountability for decades.

Our thoughts are with them and those they lost on this day of reflection, and we stand in solidarity with them.

The Hillsborough families have had to cope with so many years of loss and injustice, and we would like to join them in expressing profound disappointment that the promise made by Prime Minster Sir Keir Starmer to bring in Hillsborough Law by this anniversary has not been fulfilled.

We hope that this delay means that Hillsborough Law is passed in full as it was originally intended.

Elkan Abrahamson, the team at Broudie Jackson Canter, and those at Hillsborough Law Now will continue to work with the government to push for a comprehensive version of Hillsborough Law to be added to the statute book and will tirelessly advocate for the rights of those impacted by preventable disasters.
