For those with over £2m in funds, there is a route to settlement if you wish to invest those funds in shares or capital in the UK. Please note that government bonds are no longer a permitted investment. This route leads to settlement in 5 years but this can be shortened for those who can invest in excess of £5m or £10m.

You will need to be able to show:

• Show the funds you intend to rely on how they are held
• How you obtained the source of the funds relied on
• Show that the funds can be disposed of in the UK and moved to a UK bank account

There are no English language requirements for this route, but you do need to provide additional evidence to demonstrate your criminal record.
