How can I help you?

I am a Solicitor in the Civil Liberties team. I help our clients with a range of legal matters in the areas of Actions Against the Police and Inquests. 

A little about me

My passionate commitment to protecting Human Rights and ensuring that state bodies are held to account, is what led me to pursue a career in law. I have spent many years volunteering with vulnerable groups of people working to help protect their rights. Whilst studying my BA in English Literature and Philosophy at the University of Sheffield, I volunteered with Student Action for Refugees, teaching English and accompanying refugees and asylum seekers to local events to help them feel part of the community. 

I am a passionate advocate of access to justice, having worked in both criminal legal aid and volunteered at the Greater Manchester Law Centre to ensure that legal advice is available to those who need it most. I am proud to continue this commitment to access to justice through my work at Broudie Jackson Canter.

My experience

Before, working at Broudie Jackson Canter I completed the solicitor apprenticeship at a criminal defence firm, specialising in representing protestors. My experience in criminal legal aid and protest law inspired me to pursue a career in Actions Against the Police, having become acutely aware of the frequent mistreatment experienced by individuals at the hands of the police and other state bodies. I have an in depth understanding of police powers and the procedures relating to arrest and detention from my time acting as a police station representative.
