Today the Covid Inquiry has launched the tenth and final module of its investigation into the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Module 10 hearings will examine the impact of Covid on the population of the United Kingdom with a particular focus on key workers, the most vulnerable, the bereaved, mental health and wellbeing.

Nicola Brook, Legal Director & Solicitor at Broudie Jackson Canter which represents more than 7,000 families across the Covid Bereaved Families for Justice group, said:

“It will show that many are suffering prolonged grief disorder and PTSD caused by the horrific circumstances in which they lost their loved ones and by the restrictions that prevented them being with their loved ones as they passed and from grieving fully and properly. This module will also allow some to have a voice and to talk through their experiences, which we welcome.”

The module will explore the pandemic's effects, measures taken, and any disproportionate impacts, while identifying societal strengths that mitigated adverse effects.

The public hearings begin today and are expected to finish 5th March.
