Clare Fletcher, Partner at Broudie Jackson Canter who is presenting the members of DES Justice UK, was featured in ITV’s latest coverage of the Diethylstilbestrol scandal.
Clare and the group are calling for a public inquiry after ITV’s investigation exposed the pregnancy drug’s link to cancer. When interviewed by ITV's Sarah Corker, she said:
"I think the government are to blame here. This has been a regulatory failure at the highest level. This was a drug that was allowed to be manufactured at will and this was a drug that was never regulated."
More than 300 campaigners have formed DES Justice UK and will be represented on a pro bono basis by Clare. This commitment is a powerful reminder of how legal professionals can use their expertise to make a positive difference and change lives.
