Who Are We?

We are the Jackson Lees Group and are committed to doing what is right and making a positive difference. What started off as a small group of Solicitors in Liverpool is now a group of over 200 members of staff spread across Liverpool, Wirral and Churchtown.

What Do We Need?

The Facilities and Health & Safety Officer ensures efficient, safe and compliant workplace operations across all Jackson Lees Group offices. This includes oversight of maintenance, security, health & safety compliance, and supervision of the Admin Team Leader.

This role is based at our Walker House office in Liverpool, with responsibility for supporting all Jackson Lees offices across Liverpool, the Wirral and Southport.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Health & Safety

  • Maintain and update the H&S policy annually (October).
  • Schedule and oversee risk assessments (fire, DSE) and ensure compliance.
  • Manage statutory testing schedules: PAT (every 3 years), Emergency lighting (annually), Fixed wire (every 5 years), Fire extinguishers (annually), Fire alarm (weekly).
  • Ensure trained first aiders and fire wardens; maintain records and refreshers.
  • Check first aid kits and defibrillator pads twice yearly.
  • Deliver H&S induction for new starters and role changers.
  • Monitor office environment (noise, temperature, accessibility).
  • Log and report hazards, incidents and near misses; maintain records for 6 years.
  • Coordinate fire evacuation drills across sites.

Facilities

  • Maintain and tender contracts for services (utilities, cleaning, waste, stationery, licences, air con, archiving, postal services, water systems).
  • Manage day-to-day office repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure confidentiality agreements and liability insurance for contractors.
  • Maintain driving licence and insurance records for business vehicle use.
  • Review business rates and car park allocations.
  • Maintain confidential waste destruction certificates for 6 years.
  • Process invoices for payment.
  • Ensure security systems and alarms are maintained.
  • Manage sub-let spaces and ensure lease compliance; maintain lease records.

People

  • Provide line management and supervision to the Admin Team Leader, including roadmaps and monthly 1:1s.
  • Support the People Team with DSE assessments and specialist equipment ordering.

Client

  • Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external clients, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Manage daily office-related maintenance and issues.

Quality

  • Support the Admin Team Leader to ensure GDPR-compliant post handling and smooth operations.

Profit

  • Oversee stationery orders.
  • Lead service tenders to secure best commercial rates.
  • Ensure cost-effective procurement of office supplies and furniture.
