Housing Law Advice
We can offer advice and assistance to tenants threatened with Eviction.
Have you been threatened with Eviction and received letters or documents headed, “Notice Seeking Possession”, or “Claim Form for Possession” or “Notice of Eviction” from your Landlord because of:-
- Rent arrears
- Anti-social behaviour
- Causing Damage/Neglecting the property
- Under-Occupying the property
- Mortgage arrears; or
- Any other reason.
Do not ignore these letters or court hearings. You are more likely to keep your home, if you attend court with a solicitor than by yourself.
We understand how stressful and nerve wrecking it can be at the thought of having to attend a court hearing or at the thought of losing your home.
We have a team of experts who will advise you of what steps to take to prevent any court action, if you act quickly. If proceedings have been issued, we will advise you of what steps you need to take that will help you keep your home.
We will represent you at the court hearings and ensure that your case is put to the judge no matter what the issues are.
All landlords have to follow the correct legal process before they can evict you from your home. The legal process will depend on what type of tenancy you have. If they do not then they will be committing a criminal offence.
Legal Aid is still available where your home is at risk.
If you are being evicted because of mortgage arrears, you firstly need to contact the Civil Legal Advice on 0845 345 4345, for initial advice and assistance. They will provide you with a reference number if they say that you need a solicitor to represent your case. We can then assist you with legal aid funding.
We also offer advice and assistance on a full range of fixed fee prices if you do not qualify for legal aid.
If you would like advice and assistance about your case then please contact our Housing Team on 0151 227 1429.
